Different countries have varying laws and regulations that may impact how smart contracts are recognized, validated, and enforced.

Understanding how the legality of smart contracts is ensured across diverse legal landscapes is crucial for businesses and individuals considering their adoption. This article explores how smart contracts can be made legally enforceable in different jurisdictions, what legal challenges they face, and how the legal systems are adapting to this transformative technology.


1. What is a Smart Contract?

1.1 Definition of Smart Contracts

A smart contract is a digital agreement written in code that automatically executes the terms of a contract when certain predefined conditions are met. Smart contracts are typically deployed on blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, or Solana, and are immutable, meaning once deployed, they cannot be altered.
